Can someone tell me why the AK-47 is not C&R ? will it ever be ? I've only had my C&R 4 months and I'm doing alot of reading and learning so please bare w/ me as we all started out at some point.

I think it would cover it, if your state allows machine guns and you found one of suitable age. But I'm not sure.

To qualify as a Curio or Relic, the particular rifle would have to be manufactured in July 1957 or earlier.  It would also have to be imported and registered with ATF prior to the 1968 Gun Control Act.   I'm not sure if any such rifles are currently available.

If you did find one, the going rate for a transferable AK is ~$15k+.   Basically, the C&R would only let you skip the transfer fee at your local dealer.  If you have enough cash to buy the rifle, then you shouldn't have a problem with the $50 fee most C3 dealers charge.

False.   None of the WASR rifles are C&R eligible.

I'm not sure any semi only AK's were made until teh 80's.
