The stock I ordered from CTD(it did come with the screws btw), and the grip is a Tapco from CTD. As for the grip screw, the one I had was to short and the threads were messed up. I went to a local hardware store and picked up a(I think) 4.5" by 1/4" screw, a large washer, and a nut. I also picked up a 1/2" 5mm screw. I had to file down part of the stock because it was to large for the receiver. I also had to file down the 5mm screw some too. When I tightened down the screw to the stock, it came down to far and kept the stock from folding right. I could only use the back screw hole. I also used some blue loctite on the stock screw and on the grip.

It would sure be slick if they could combine that rail with the top cover.   Maybe if they were to take that Krebs mount that's supposed to be available soon and weld the top cover to it and rely on their trunnion latch to open things up rather than the push button release.

I really like the idea of a solid mount with a rear peep sight right above the action, but you shouldn't have to remove a screw or repeat the same action twice to disassemble it.

What fire control group did you use?

Nice conversion!  I'd like to do the same but I thought I would need to switch out the wood handguards for US made.  What are your compliance parts?

I need to change mine also.  Whats that company that sells US made furniture for the MAK's that fits from the start?

Nice looking weapon. Here's mine.

US parts: G2 HTS, US laminated PG and US gas piston. The next thing on the short list for this rifle is a park-and-paint job. LOVE the MAK, HATE the way it rusts if I even look at it sideways!

My 5 parts are the pistol grip, a G2 FCG, and I installed Tapco mag followers in my mags. I have to say, the Tapco followers seem to work really well. While I have not taken it to the range yet to see if everything is smooth, I like them so far.

the devil is in the details i ordered the stock finally to add to my mak. i know the screws needed are 5mm, but what head type? and is there different thread pitches?length purchased?

i am considering this, and might start a new thread when it arrives, when installing your stock i assume you used the rear most hole as your single attachment point. from the pics i've seen this throws the forward hole just slightly off. when fitting your stock did you try and lighn up the front hole, as in was there something stopping the use of that screw hole?
if it lines up, what would be wrong with using the foward hole and drilling out the rear hole in the tang to line up with the rear stock hole? then cutting some sort of washer .

i am ahead of myself here, just wandering if this mod is possible.

thanx

I told the guy I need a 1/2" 5mm phillips head screw. I had to file part of the screw down because it was to long. You can only use the rear most hole to attach the stock, the other hole just won't line up.
