The WASR should be fine, just don't expect a great finish.  Cold War Shooters has okay prices given, that they are one of the few dealers willing to ship AKs to California.  Aim does have better prices, but will not ship to California.  If you are willing to spend a little more money you can probably find a Lancaster build, which should be nicer than the WASR.

Well if you are really tight on a budget (which you must be or something because you want a WASR) then go with the 5.45  In the long run right now you can get surplus ammo REALLY cheap.
