Just returned from a range session with NIB SLR-106FR. Target range was limited but  less than 50 yds.  It looks like this thing is going to have nearly a foot of windage error at 100yds.  I want to verify that by shooting at a measured 100yds before taking any action. The remedy doesn't look very appealing, especially considering the $ investment in the piece so far.

Anyone with any similar experience?

I'm trying to work something out now to get my new SLR-106 replaced. I got mine zeroed, but I had to move the front sight all the way to the left to do so.

My SLR-106 also had feeding trouble with a gen2 clear waffle magazine and a Robarm converted bakelite. Failures included feedway jams, where the shoulder or wall of a case would get stuck on the mouth of the chamber, and bolt-over failures. I also discovered little brass shavings that looked like fingernail clippings scattered around the front trunnion after cycling some XM-193.

Gotta love it, welcome to the world of Arsenal, overhyped and overpriced, and needing customer service out of the box.  I thought the SLR 106es only had sight problems with the first batch...  Yes, quite a few people had similar experiences with NIB guns.  If you carefully sight down along the top of the gun, you'll doubtless find that your front sight base is canted to the right.  You can either adjust the front sight to compensate, or send the gun back to Arsenal for rework.  I just kept mine and adjusted it myself, the front sight is far over to the left on mine now.  I haven't had the feeding problems second guy describes, though my gun didn't like Remington green box .223.  I tried Robinson mags with mine, they just plain didn't fit.  Tight mag fits weren't unusual with the clear waffles.  Sounds like yours has more serious issues.

Thanks gentlemen for the responses.

For the record, my groups were to the right of LOS.  Ammo was .223 Remington green box.  No feed problems with either the Arsenal-supplied short mag, or the after-market 20 shot, clear waffle mag thrown in by the dealer. No brass finger nail clippings.

Thanks again.

Try it with 62 gr. Barnaul Ammo. If the result is not better; send the gun back to

Arsenal. They should be taking good care of your gun.

I've been under the impression that it was the clear mags that were the trouble-free ones. I've got 7 of the clear 30rd ones and so far so good........(keeping fingers crossed)

The 30 rd clear waffle mag I got when I purchased the rifle was very tight in the mag well, and hard to remove.  It has broken in with use.  The black mags I've tried have been problem free.
