| i just started getting into ak's lately and i was wondering what range i should zero my sights in at? i zero my ar's in at 50yrds and it gives me a pretty flat trajectory (like + or - 2in.) out to 200yrds. also im looking into getting a mojo rear sight which has no elevation adjustment. |

If you want just one sight setting to handle most stuff, here is a good one recommended by John Farnam in his defensive shotgun and rifle book. It works well for me because I am using a Mojo rear sight with no elevation slide. This will allow you to shoot from 0-200m with the bullet striking no more than 2" from the line of sight at any range. Dead on at 19m Maximum ordinate 98m Second intersection 171m Maximum point blank range is 200m Hold overs: 300m, 58cm. Hold on the head 400m, 155cm. Hold over three quarters body length. 500m, 320cm. Over 10 feet, Farnam considers this cartridge "largely unusable" at this range. I zeroed like this last night, and proceeded to hit small chest sized steel plates at 300 yards by holding near the top edge of the target. This is a good sight in for an all around fighting rifle. |
Does he have a recomendation for 5.45? |
