Well I've gotten the itch to get another AK.  I've owned a couple of Polytechs many years ago (why did I sell them?), and a p.o.s. post ban Maadi.  I like the Vector Arms milled model.  Does anyone that owns or has shot one have a favorable or unfavorable opinion on them?

I have not seen many posts about the milled models but I am sure someone will be along with their take on em.

Generally, most everyone seams to be extreamly happy with Vector products though. Just wish they finished in something other than that grey park.

I picked up a nib poly furniture milled vector today. I have not shot it yet, I have owned several ak's in the past few years and this is one of the best looking and well built I have seen.

Put 100 rounds through my undefolder with no problems.  It looks pretty good too, I like the wood furniture.

My vector AKM has the US parts listed in the manual, have you checked there?  If they just gave you the AKM manual it may be different though.  So I dont know if that helps.

I bought a wood fixed stock Vector after I bought my WASR-10.  The Vector was night and day better.  A huge improvement and I love it!

Anybody know if the Vector Arms AK "classic" has the "grooved" wooden buttstock? Or is it more like the plain Romainian look?

It has a grooved stock in the pic on Atlantic's website.

Thanks for the input.  That 5 year warranty is also nice selling point.  I do agree on the looks of the finish, but I like anything that is more protective than a blued finish.

Vector parkerizes their AK's.  It is a more durable finish than just regular bluing.
