| Anyone know if this is available in the USA? If so where? |
Importing alcohol without a license is a federal crime |
Isn't there a limit though? like 10 quarts is OK? I recall coming into the US from south america with 2 sea bags full of tequila and it was under the amount I had to declare.
|
I think the limit is 2 liters per person when entering the U.S. (best of my recollection from taking a cruise) I'd say the mailing thing is illegal, but I don't know for sure. |
funny, there are plenty of places that sell absynth to the country and garantee it gets to ur door, although i dont know the details of not having a license. I do know the kalash. is out there, hence at one time they were all over ebay. I couldnt get myself to pay the $140 for the special box and bott that looked like a ak47 |

The bottle looks like an AK? Serious? That's cool! I am going to be in France next month, I might have to pick up a bottle or two. Also I don't remember the exact limit on liters you can bring into the US at one time but I have brought more than 5 liters in at one time and never had to declare it. My wife is from Sweden so we travel to europe at least twice a year and always being several bottles back with us each time. There is certain alcohol over there that they don't sell here that she loves. It all tastes like Boone's Farm to me! |
| I cross the Mexican border at Brownsville/Matomoros (sp?) all the time bringing in liquor. For a Texas resident the limit is 1 liter for out of state residents the limit is 3 liters, but you have to pay a customs duty. I don't know how this would work from the UK, but I would love a bottle! |

no. absinthe that contains thojine (i believe thats the spelling of it) is banned from US importation and on the us customs ban list. there are versions available in America, but they are not the stuff you can get elsewhere. also, even European countries cap the thojine percentage. |
You seriously think you are buying real absinthe? I have a bridge to sell you. |

My understanding and experience. If you are importing on a one time basis for personal use, permit and health label are not required. This means YOU will consume it. If a gift, then there is a labeling requirement, they can get sticky on this, but usually won't. If its for you, its never an issue. Fed and State taxes are required regardless, with some amount duty free if traveling. Customs at the point of entry can make a rather arbitrary determination on personal use - but mostly they are reasonable. Amount is a good indicator. A bottle or 2 is no issue - a case is a hard sell - a pallet, well, imagine TTB will get involved. Have stuff shipped, sometimes its missed altogether - but dont count on it. Luck Alac |
sorry i dont actually have this i just ran into it on a german kids blog one time. |

correct me if I am wrong but it looks ilke the vodka in an AK shaped bottle isn't the normal way of buying it. this seems to be some type of marketing thing right? mostly it comes in a regular bottle right? http://www.kalashnikovvodka.com/the_vodka/index.php I am going to have to pick up a couple of bottle of this in Feburary when I am in Paris. it appears to be for sale there too. who wants a bottle? and of course how much is it worth to you :) |
