what would be the best muzzle break for an ak pistol? most pistols i see have the slant break on them, but wouldnt a flash hider or a break be better? why or why not?

I can't say which would be best but the slant break isn't going to do much in my opinion. I'd use an enclosed break that has most of the ports on the top half.
Have you shot the pistol yet? Does it have a lot of muzzle climb or felt recoil?

but wouldnt a flash hider or a break be better? why or why not?

What do you want or need? If the muzzle climb is decent but in low light the flash blinds you get a flash hider, these break up the flame so it's not just a big fire ball just looks like (to the shooter) thin streaks coming out the slots.
If your getting a lot of muzzle climb then get a break, these have a hole on the end just a little bigger then the bullet so a large amount of the gases are directed out the ports, when the gas it forced out the ports it helps cancel out the felt recoil or upward movement of the barrel. A break also acts as a flash hider but a flash hider does not work like a break.
Hope this makes sence to you.

As Coils mentioned depends what you want it to do? If your looking for the loudest noise and biggest flash don't put anything on the end. Other wise do as Coils mentioned.

Nothing = big flash + noise
Slant Brake = quicker follow up shots + some flash protection
Flash = keeps the flash down and some help with jump too.
