In the recent post regarding the removal of the cleaning rod to increase accuracy somone mentioned "barrel harmonics". Can someone sort of give me the lowdown on that? Or point me to a definitive source? Guitar was a passionate hobby (and money maker) for many years so I understand things vibrate, and there are certain sympathetic frequencies in various objects and all that. Just makes me wonder. The only thing no one will take away from the AK is reliability. Accuracy is usually sited as what was sacrificed. I just wonder if you do a tinker here, an adjustment there if you could come up with the same reliability but an AK that was really dead on out to about 300 meters. Figure knowing every little thing helps. I did run a search on here and found nothing under "harmonics" Cheers, RWB64 |

Perhaps in a target rifle you would notice a difference. However in a battle type rifle like the AK you would not notice the difference with or without. In other words if there is some sort of negative performance accuracy wise it's so small it can be easily be over compensated for by a better barrel, better ammo, or simply good basic shooting skills.
