This was also posted in the Yugo section but i wanted to get more views and possible replies...

I've heard that one plus about the yugo is the 1.5mm thick receiver... however, the shotgun news article ( August 20, 2006 issue) states that the sample they got was only 1mm thick, like every other ak made...

Has the people who own the yugo measured the thickness of their receiver? Or, is it really supposed to be only 1mm thick, people are advertising 1.5mm.

Assuming that the receiver is only 1mm thick, what are the other advantages of the yugo over other AKs?

thanks,
DK

The Shotgun News article about the Century assembled (on DCI receivers) M70 rifles contained inaccurate details as to the material thickness of the receiver. The actual material thickness of the DCI M70 (either AB2 or B1) receivers is 0.062", which is slightly more than 1.5mm.
