I have a converted 308 Saiga that is like almost every other AK in that it feeds all sorts of ammo flawlessly. Today I tried some hand loads of 125grain ballistic tips and 150 hornady FMJ's and they kept preventing the action from closing all the way.  I tried to slam the bolt/carrier forward and it sometimes took a few tries for it to close all the way.  This would happen every other few rounds.  At first I thought that I somehow screwed these cases/loads up but the other loads I made up (200, 180, and 165 grain) worked flawlessly.  Silver Bear 145 grain bullets and 150 grain Ballistic tip reloads also run without a hickup.  Nothing on the outside of this ammo looks different or bad and the bullets don't seem to be getting caught up/snagged anywhere along the way while entering the chamber.  It is just that the last 1/4" or so before the chamber closes seems to be the problem.   Any ideas?  Thanks.  Aaron.

Are all the cases once fired? All fired from the same rifle before reloading?
Is  your sizing die full length?

Yes to all your questions.  It was all once fired from the same rifle (although a different rifle) and full resized.  All the brass was mixed together and different powder amounts were selected for the different weight bullets. Catridge overall legnth is within spec.   It seems weird that the two lighter weight bullets won't go into the chamber but the heavier ones do.  By the way this problem happens both when the rounds are hand cycled into the chamber (like when the first round in a mag is striped) and also after the rifle's recoil loads another round.  I just don't get it.  By the way does anyone know the 308 Saiga's barrel twist rate?  Thanks again.  Aaron.
