Clean it if it makes you feel better. I clean my AKs once a year, whether they need it or not.

POLYTHENEPAM, if i clean my ak's one a year like you ,i would be cleaning them every 13,000 to 16,000 rounds, sorry if  my questions sound newbish but all my poly wolf/silver bear is gone and now all i have been shooting is the laquer stuff.I know ak's are made to shoot laquer ammo im just asking if in need to clean the chamber once and a awhile.

i have a can of break cleaner.  i just spray down the chamber, wait 30 seconds and spray again.  be careful not to get any on the outside of your rifle though.  i've seen it disolve finishes.
