Looking to buy an AKS-74, but I am unsure as to which one to buy. I am unfamiliar with the quality level of some that I have looked at and I don't want to spend 600+ on a Joeken rifle or similar. I noticed that Atlantic sells AKS's made by Red Jacket, how is thier quality level? Also, how about ORF? Do any of you have suggestions on which AKS to buy and about how much I can figure on spending? Input is appreciated

+1...Just remember that it will cost you $300+ to have a sidefolder put on...thats just to install it.  You still have to buy the stock and hardware ($130ish).  Keep in mind your parts count too.  A US made muzze brake will get you square again...

$600 105A1
$130 stock
$300 labor
------------
$1030

So yeah I'd watch the EE for a nice built bulgarian at $600-$700. The red jacket ones are probably pretty nice, I've heard mostly good things about them and atlantic should treat you right on the off chance there are problems.

Ryno,

Look into the BLR-74F that Atlantic Firearms is offering.  It's built on their 1.6mm receiver.

I have an AKS-74 from Atlantic Firearms purchased in July of this year that was assembled by Red Jacket firearms.
No problems after just shy of 700 rds, very nice looking and nicely finished rifle.
Atlantic was also very pleasant to deal with.
