I am trying to reinstall my furniture and I can get the top handguard piece back in... can anyone tell me and easy ways to do this without breaking the wood..

Rear flat of the tube goes into a vice, wrap a rag about the wood, insert and twist.

U mean twist the whole upper wood piece and it wont break?
