Depends on what kind of underfolder it was.

We charge $650 for a complete Polish underfolder built from a parts kit, and we can't build them fast enough to meet demand.  Further, we have parts kits for underfolders literally stacked to the ceiling which people have sent us to be built into complete rifles.  Most of those people will have at least $650 in their builds by the time they are complete.  I just shipped this one out today:

So likely, no, that's not too much.  Go on the Equipment Exchange or Gunbroker and take a look at the market.

century yugo under folders are priced at $600 + tax at my gunshows. dealers give me attitude when i offer to give them $500 OTD for them as they are only $450 or less from a distributor

I assume you're refering to the Yugo M70AB2 that Century is selling these days.  Yes, I think that $599 is a little high, but it all depends on how much they go for in your neck-o-the-woods.  I picked one up yesterday for $469 but most of the shops around here want $529 - $559.  That price may reflect that most of the shops around here have one or more on the shelf.  If you only have one or two retailers in your area dealing in them then you might need to add a few $$$ to that price to account for a limited supply.

I wouldnt say it's waaaay to high, just a little high.  I think I paid $499 or $529 for mine when they first came out.  If its a Polish underfolder, then I would say $599 is pretty well in line.

Let's see...

Polish Kit, when they were Normal price,  $150
Reveiver. $60
Rivits  $15
FCG $30
US mfg Grip $10

Total, $265 to build mine.

Yea..$599 sounds fair to me.

My dealer charges 500 for them. I wouldn't pay 600, you can do better. For a custom build, yes, but for a Century gun, no.

By the way Duke, your finishes never cease to amaze me. Another beautiful rifle. Did you blue it? The front end looks like it!

The century arms underfolders are bit more than that at my fun store.  So yeah it is about right.

Chris, its semi-gloss Moly Resin.  Here's the same gun in natural sunlight, without flash photography.  You can tell the gas block and gas tube don't quite match up since I refinished them in different batches.  They are pretty close though, it just depends on how the light hits it.

I always test fire underfolders in Somali Militia Mode (tm).

The Norrell's is by far the most popular of the finishes we offer.  I can count on one hand the number of guns we've parkerized, and we haven't blued too many either.

Check out this 7.62 sidefolder we just built from Polish and Bulgarian parts.  The flash hider is a Vortex.  I thought it was pretty unique.  Unfortunately a drum mag will NOT fit with the stock folded.  Dammit.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, I'm just a picture whore.

Question is: (A) Do you want/need one?????

It's called supply and demand
