| Any suggestions on the fastest way to learn about the industry and terms do I don't sound silly? I ordered a sourcebook and shooters and collectors guide, but still trying to learn. Avid sportsman and hunter looking to get more into shooting, collecting, etc. especially in AR series. |

GO TO BOTH SIDES of the house.... You will find that BOTH sides favor their types....AR's & AK's. I have both but I favor AK's....Simplicity at its best.....And the best K.I.S.S. This is AR 15.COM you are supposed to "get both".  You will learn about ARs more on the AR side as we have mostly all went over to the dark side "and got a free cookie". It depends on what you want and are looking for in a rifle. I have both and I like simplicity and 30cal bullets and low maintinence rifles so I like AKs the best but I still love my AR too. I wish the AK could have gotten the AR 15s saftey. Oh well. The fastest way to learn the terms is just to read and hangaround a bit. If someone jumps your case because you got a term mixed up just ignore them because they are just an insecure jerk trying to achieve recognition. Just hang out and read the posts and ask questions now and then.
