Hello, could someone please tell me what they think of the Romanian WASR .223 Ak's. Are They any good? Also, for what it's worth, I'm a real neat freak, and I appreciate quality, so my question is, would I be happy with one of these WASR .223 AK's. Thank you for your time.

If to appreciate quality a WASR may not be what you want
I know a lot of these that eat up ammo without a hitch but they are about the lowest quality ones made

I can't really comment on the rifle, but reliable mags(Weiger) are going to be a lot harder to find than 7.62x39 ot 5.45x39 mags.

True but then again ammo prices for the foriegn calibers are only affordable as long as they are in supply which has been shown to be otherwise.

I've had one for about 6 months and despite what you are about to read, I like the rifle.  But I'm an AR man and this allows me to dabble in the dark side without stocking different ammo.

Bad
- When my wife saw it she asked if the stock was home made.
- It had a problem feeding bullets from the right side of the magazine.  So I added a spacer. This fixed that problem and it has feed 100% since them.
- The rifle was sighted in when I got it.  The front sight post on mine is pretty far over to the left.  I doubt it could go much further.  But it does hit were I aim.
- The rifle is neutered.  So if you want a bayonet lug and flash hider you'll need to add them.  The barrel is 14mm in diameter like a 7.62 not 13mm like a 5.45 and this makes that harder.
- I've not done much in the way of accuracy testing. IIRC my groups were 8 to 10 inches at 100 yards with WWB.

Good
- The trigger is good.  I let a guy at the range shoot it. He said it had a very good trigger for an AK.  But it's not as good as my Bushmasters.
- If you pull the bolt back and gently ease it forward it will hang up on the hammer and it act like a bolt hold open.  I like this "feature" even though I now know that it is a design flaw in this model.
- Once I got the feeding issue corrected it has been totally reliable.

Other
- Magazines are not easy to find.  Century has the Weiner mags but they are $25.  I got 5 from Interordinance for $15 each before they sold out.  I just ordered some Ak-74 mags and will put RobArms followers in them.  (I didn't list this under bad because good solutions are available.  But I can't list expensive or modified magazines as good either.)

ETA:
1) I think of WASR's as being a kit that comes preassembled. You have to be willing to tinker with it to work out any bugs.
2) WASR stands for What A Shitty Rifle
