Yes, if you used FMJ.

Hollow Point/Soft Point bullets will decreased penetration ability somewhat.

Keep in mind too that a lot of the "sporting" ammunition with holow points are also steel jacketed and have minimal expansion.  The Cor-Bon and other american manufactured hunting ammo will have copper jackets as well as some of teh Wolf that specifies copper jackets.

This just means you have to investigate the ammo you buy if you are buying it for a particular purpose.

An AK and/or an SKS firing FMJ and even softpoint WILL penetrate many walls of normal wood frame construction.

wolf "HP" is just a FMJ round with the tip cut off

I believe that it will travel through a number of walls - not  just one. That would be FMJ or HP.
