Just had a quick question about magazines, specifically 7.62x39 polymer mags, how are the quality of the Bulgarian Waffle mags and the Polish polymer mags? Good stuff or bad joo joo? Also what are the best steel ribbed mags? Thanx Sly |
| I believe the Bulgarian waffle mags are some of if not the best ak mags around. They're very sturdy, steel reinforcement up top and no rusting. I have no personal experience with the polish polys but haven't heard any major negatives about them. Finally, steel mags are steel mags. Don't think any one type is really any better than another, just some more rare and expensive. Poly-tech steel mags with the chrome follower might be a step up but they all run. |

i have a polish slabside and the only problem i have with it is it fits a little to tight in the mag well. after a few uses im sure it will wear in. also the first time i tried to use it the bolt would not slam home????? i simply removed the mag and inserted again and havent had any trouble since. |
Absolutely +1 Anytime I can find Bulgarian Waffle mags for a reasonable price I scoop them up. About 3 months ago I purchased 40 for $15 each on the EE. |
| I've got a single waffle mag and it really is very well made and an excellent mag. I have a couple of the Polish slabsides which I think are great looking mags, although they don't feel as substantial as the waffles, there's probably little difference in durability. |
holy shit, $70 for one mag? During the AWB or something? |
That is what KVAR was charging for them BEFORE Chief Thunder brougth them back to reality. The man may be in prison now, but he brougth good prices to us all. Anyone remember the $200 Krink kits? |
|
Yes, I remember the Krink kits. Had one, sold it for more then double my $$ in it. Hell, I'm still running the mags from him that cost $5.95 each. Chief was alway able to get the product. I think he was a tad "wild" when he posted though. That doesen't make him a bad person. PETman |
