Hey guys, I have a tapco G2 trigger installation... and... I was just kinda looking at the function of my gun last night as I was cleaning/fixing a prob with the stock... see the part here: www.judgex.com/tapco.jpg My question is... what is the effect of NOT installing the indicated part, OR, implementing something to hold it fully back? I noticed that the indicated piece seems to be the only thing that catches the hammer if the trigger is held in... anyone going shooting this weekend and wanna experiment? I'm just curious... if this is a quick full-auto kind of thing that can be implemented, I have an idea for making a neat little selector and everything... I'd of course have to get a license for that kind of thing first -_-;;; but, not risking getting my gun stolen away :). I figured someone here might have experimented and would know or have precautions/experience... Thanks! -JX |
| I think it has already been done. I would suppose that the rifle would shoot once and then the hammer would follow the bolt carrier forward as the delay the disconnector allows for the trigger to reset to capture the hammer would not happen. The rifle will most likely not function as a illegal fully auto rifle if that is what you are getting at. Could cause an out of battery slamfire, but I would expect the hammer to just follow the carrier forward and rifle to not fire after the first time. |

Freedom of speech not respected on these boards? We can't hypothesize about ways to make our guns fully-automatic without being scrutinized? Why take offense to a simple question when it is COMPLETELY harmless to you? If I choose to make my gun automatic, and I go to jail for 10 years and get buttsexed into a coma, that's my problem, not yours... either stick to the topic or roll on by, gentlemen... this is a FORUM. |
There is a limit to freedom of speech on a privately owned forum. There is a code of conduct on this forum which we all try to abide by. Those who don't want to abide by the forum rules are not welcome. 3.) Posting or linking to information on how to make illegal modifications to firearms or purchase illegal items. Your attempts to lure people in isn't going to be appreciated long. |

"limit to freedom of speech on a privately owned forum"? Dude, when you limit the freedom of speech on a forum, it immediately becomes worthless... rules to safeguard civil behavior are one thing (no cursing, no incessant flames, etc), but GUN CONTROL ENFORCEMENT on a firearms forum? Keep supporting the gun control people ;). I'm sure I'm not the only user who disagrees with rule #3. Information wants to be free, right? Why stifle it? And why play the narc/cop on this issue anyway? What do you get? The thrill of getting to tell someone what to do and when to do it? Keep on supporting the gun control nazis even in discussion forums, and you'll be part of the reason that in 5 years ATF officers will own all of our firearms... of course, then you could come in and post things like "Rule #3841, speaking of how to modify a bolt action .22 rifle to accept a clip like back in the early 2000's is strictly against the rules... making illegal modifications is BAAAAAAAAAAD" Take a chill pill... I wasn't trying to specifically break a rule. I was asking a legitimate question, curious as to if holding back that secondary sear with something would make it full auto, mainly because I want a better understanding of the function of the inside of my firearm... not because I'm dying to go waste all my ammo in less than 5 seconds... Also, it'd be nice to know just in case of a SHTF situation, which I like to be prepared for, as full auto, believe it or not, does have some uses (think of firing on an enemy driving by in a car at high speed.. .while the hotshots in the crowd will laud themselves by assuming they could make the hit, those of us who mod our AKs to have full auto would have a much higher chance of raking the baddie as he sped by... and that's just one of a million ways it would be helpful...) |
Hahaha, get 'em BTW illegally moding your rifle to full auto is going to fuel the antis not us telling you that talk of it is not allowed on this board. |
|
Pfft, cuz you're a fed with the DOJ? The DOJ enforces forum rules now? That's convenient... I have a forum you can police for me, too ;). You on the clock 24/7 with the DOJ internet police squad? Surely I jest... My question remains unanswered... anyone care to answer what would happen if I pinned back this sear besides MAK coming out to find me at the range and personally butt-rape me before putting me in prison to receive more butt raping? I was moreso asking how the GUN would react to it, not the legal system. I don't support or encourage anyone to do this... the only scenario in which I would actually do this would be in a scenario that the rules no longer applied... or in one where the United States Constitution were suddenly *gasp* respected in all of its wording... not that I expect such miracles from the DOJ ;)... So while the DOJ apparently polices this forum, I don't guess anyone can come out with an open post about the results they had trying this, I am open to PMed responses to avoid nosy scrutiny... Thanks :) |
Does this make it clear enough for you? |

I was at work last night and was talking to 6 different ATF officers while they were transporting a number of new arrestees for violating federal firearms laws. It amazes me that some guys just don't take a warning when it is offered. Kind of like the guy everyone was talking about on the AR side of the board last month. Great long time member making AR-15 receivers in his little shop. Everyone was upset that a guy was arrested for this. Yeah, he posted instructions and pictures on the site. Of course, it was illegal for a prior felon to have receivers and firearms in his possession even if he did build them himself. I suppose the pictures and how to guides he may have posted are all going to be used as evidence in his trial now since they confiscated his computer. |

See? There's a good, honest reply... can someone now explain how this would cause a slam-fire? I don't understand the mechanism quite so well... I also happened upon a text file that describes doing this process with very commonly found, disposable kitchen items... and it says that it does indeed work... it's a little text file... I won't link to it out of respect for the rules, but, I'm not hiding it from anyone, it's out there, and it reports that this does in fact do the conversion... I mean, unless they've made significant other changes to the inside of the gun, it looks fairly obvious how even the selector works on a Full Auto AK, if you watch how the part moves from safety to single shot... but again, I won't divulge any more details because I don't want any forum admins mad at me... I would like to know if anyone has toyed with this though... in a private message if you're afraid of the law peepz. and vinnie: "If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. If, however, the offense, the commission of which is the object of the conspiracy, is a misdemeanor only, the punishment for such conspiracy shall not exceed the maximum punishment provided for such misdemeanor. " If you're a lawyer, you need to go back to law school. Building an automatic weapon is NOT conspiring to commit an offense AGAINST the united states. Conspiring to build an automatic weapon and attack government officials with it, however, might be. This law is here to say, "if you plan bad shit against the united states, the united states is putting your dumb ass in jail before you do it..." NOT "if you talk about breaking any law anywhere you are guilty of conspiracy and go to jail for it just as fast"... give me a break and get that crap outta here. |
Exactly right. Conspiracy is used by federal prosecutors all the time to lock up people who have never actually completed a crime. Just planning to commit a crime get alot of people locked up for a lot longer then 5 years. I know guys who have been sentenced for 25 years for drug dealing who were never caught with any drugs, never completed the drug deal they were arrested for and it didn't matter. A conspiracy case can be made on any crime and often sticks.
If you check my very first post on the thread I advised him of that.

Apologies, I just skimmed through the thread.

"Exactly right." Exactly wrong. Someone MIGHT want to know this information because they plan to move to a country where fully automatic gunfire is completely legal... they might even want to know because they want to take a TRIP there. Someone MIGHT want to know how to do this to pass the information on to a friend who lives in such a country. Someone MIGHT just be curious about the workings of his/her firearm. Someone MIGHT not have a single harmful plan for use of said information. Someone MIGHT know a firearms dealer in a country where this is legal who could make large profits from it. Someone MIGHT not be confined to the united states his/her whole life. Someone MIGHT like to know this in the event that the US Government collapsed, or the law was eventually repealed. Freedom of speech exists because we MIGHT not want to go to jail for talking about how much we'd like it if certain members of our society had their heads blown off without us going to jail. My right to swing my fist ends where the other man's nose begins. My right to inquire about a firearm and modifications to it ends in exactly the instant that my firearm is successfully modified to fire full-auto. Then the police can come a runnin'. My right to discuss it on this very forum, however, concludes when a forum mod says so, and I can respect that, it's a great forum... However, your right to MISINTERPRET THE LAW and WIELD IT AGAINST PEOPLE while flashing your DOJ badge is certainly very, very, very questionable as to its own legality... and CERTAINLY something your superiors at the DOJ would frown upon... if that organization is worth its salt, anyway. |
It just shows it is more likely then not that the entire post by this individual is an attempt to troll or draw someone into an attempt to break the law.
|
|
Actually I ask you in an IM to not post concerning illegal modification and asked you as one of the moderators of the AK board. You continued anyway. As far as I know there are no other moderators from this part of the board here tonight. But though a number of members have warned you, you continued anyway and state you don't care what the board rules and code of conduct state. |

I have no intentions of drawing someone into breaking the law. Stop putting intentions in my words that do not exist. Why would ANYONE want someone else to break a law? That makes no sense. If you were saying I was trying to get a girl to dance naked for me, you might be right because I'm a male and I have a motive... in this situation though, you're being flat retarded and CLEARLY just want to paint me as a forum "troll". I'm not. I'm seriously just seeking some information. It does not make someone a troll to RESPOND TO INSULTING AND LUDICROUS COMMENTS. It does, however, make someone a wuss to sit and take them. I'm neither a troll, nor a wuss. However, what you have done, is successfully hijacked a thread, and drawn me into making an enemy of you in a public forum where your post count is 3,000+ and mine is 30+, lending you far more credence with the people here, and far more weight with any admins. I'm sure you've hijacked MANY a thread, and done this little trick to a lot of people... but frankly, it's not going to work on me. Your power trip can end now, and we can either get back to my topic, or let it fade out completely... I don't really care if it fades out, but, I don't really wish to sit here and banter like a retard on the internet with a DOJ guy who thinks he can interpret the law to throw everyone who talks about fully automatic weapon modifications in jail. I ask you again... either post something constructive and on topic to my original or subsequent questions, or please, move along... you:
me:
If I am to be banned for this spat of retardedness you've brought upon me for no apparent reason, so be it... but I hope it will stand as a testament to those who pay attention... this kind of activity by forum admins CAN NOT BE BENEFICIAL TO THE FORUMS. All ya had to do was issue a warning with your forum admin credentials UP FRONT, say that you were OBLIGATED TO STOP THE THREAD, and be done with it... but, ya wanted to bait me, I guess... whatever. Furthermore, I didn't even see your IM Message "warning" until you mentioned it just now. I'm new here. I don't suspect that it matters since this will likely be my last night able to post here anyway, since I'm sure you've already atested to all of your buddies via IMs what a complete jerk I am. Good job. -1 enthusiastic AK user. Thanks. |

If it wasn't Mak it would have been someone else. Quite honestly this is the wrong group of people to ask about "modding" stock trigger groups that were designed for the sole purpose of semi-auto function. We here for the majority look out for one another, respect views and opinions, follow the guidlines that the owner of this great site has set. Moderators, Staff, Administrators, and the Owner are here to respect and enforce the code of conduct. I respect it, others respect it, so should you. Figure this as the owners house, he welcomes you as with the almost 100,000 members on this site with open arms, you come in and say "Thank you for letting me in your wonderful home, By the way I'd like to bone your wife and set your dog on fire". I wonder what his reaction would be? Of course freedom of speech is a wonderful thing but respect the owners rule of the house. The fact is within the first few replies on the thread should have made enough of a point to show, we don't converse about making a machine gun without going through the hoops. We love our firearms, We love our rights, We are infact a family sort of speak. On my behalf I ask for this to stop. |
|
This thread is toast, MAK thank you for explaining so well why we don't discuss these things here. I don't really care what anybody thinks about the lock, the topic is verotten on this site for a good reason, this is AR15.com, not gunnutsmakingillegalmachineguns.com. This is a long standing policy of the owners of the site, if you don't like it go elsewhere. |
