first off I'm new to the forum so hi to everyone.

I have a wasr 10 not a bad rifle it's one of the nicer wasr's that I've seen,  just looking for something in a different caliber.

Is the Wasr 2 a good gun for the price or should I spend the money on a more expensive rifle?

They are great.  First get a case of ammo in your hands then get the gun.

I have both in the very similar SAR series from several years ago. My best groups are 2.5" with the Romy vs 2" for my Bulgy 74. My Bulgy has a nicer finish and that cool muzzle end, but it cost twice as much.

Welcome. Yes ammo is the key to both guns right now. Wasr fell like crap to me, but that is me. So it is up to U on spending on a good gun. Check out AtlanticFirearms.com they have a nice selection to chose from. OUT. Tuna

Welcome to the Dark Side! I personally am not a fan of WASRs, but many here on the board seem to be fine with them. I have no idea what your financial situation is, but if you have some cash check out the Arsenal SLR-105 series (if you can find one). They are as close as you will find to a real 74, and are questionably the best 74 clones made anywhere. For one with all the evil pre-ban features (compensator, bayo lug, all that) you can expect to drop between $600-$650, depending on what kind of deal you find. You may have to search around for awhile, as 105s are no longer being produced. I love my 105, just wish ammo would start coming in again. As Tuna said, check out Atlantic Firearms, they are good people.

Keep us informed, man.

Ammo shouldn't be a problem very soon here if you don't mind shooting corrosive stuff...
