Yesterday I went out to shoot my newly Americanized Maadi (new stock, FCG, and grip) and the damned shepard's crook moved out a bit and got tangled up in the bolt after 3 rounds. Naturally I was annoyed, so I got out the 10/22 and made ragged holes for a while. When I got home I took it apart again, yanked out the crook, flung it across the room, and locked the pins with stainless safety wire. Problem solved permenantly. But just now I was fondling the gun again, as I'm prone to do, and noticed that the flash hider lock pin worked itself out. It was wedged into the FSB when they tack welded the thread protector on and didn't pop back out when I ground the welds. Guess soaking it in CLP and shooting it a couple of times knocked it loose. So now I can justify a new flash hider since the thing will actually stay on

Anyone have any recommendations? Needs to be US made to stay legal, but that's the only requirement.

Got the stock, grip, and FCG from Global at the last gun show, might as well get the rest from them

Is the slant brake supposed to be turned 45 or so degrees to the right as viewed from the painful end? Somewhere around here I have a cheap copy of an M16A2 flash hider with a 14x1 LH thread. If I can find it I'll have to spend 30 seconds with a rat tail file and stick it on there for the time being.
