-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Had my eye recently on an underfolder. Was leaning towards one of the Polish ones. Someone I was talking to today related he had bought one but had several ergonomic issues with them. One was the folding stock itself. He felt uncomfortable with the cheek weld and felt it was harsh on his face. The other issue was the stock angle and that it was radical and made it hard to get a good cheek weld when sighting in. I know I am speaking in generalities but I'm wondering if anyone has had similar "ergonomic" issues. Any feedback is appreciated. |

If you are worried about cheek weld, dont get an underfolder. If you like evil looking AK rifles get one. The PMKMS is a great build. You will love it. Everyone worries about cheekweld on the Underfolders. Bunch of Wimps... Personally i love the feel of the cold steel across my face as i unleash a mag of ammo at an unsuspecting television set, refrigerator, or abandon car. If you want cheekweld get an AR stock, or go sit on the toilet and experience some real cheekweld... KyARGuy |

Cheek weld is kind of obscure for me because with most any rifle I can find a comfortable stance. Im med height at 5'8" and have a 21" shoulder to wrist sleeve. To me the UF presents no issues and is quite comfortable to shoot. Maybe with taller longer armed people its a different story. I have a Romy side folder too and its comfortable albeit a bit short. There are 2 configurations on the UF. Mine is straight back as I believe are the Polish. Others, like the Norico many are slanted or dropped configuration. I have never shouldered a slant UF. I have been impressed with its sturdiness too. It does get a little loose after a while but I found from a post I read that you can tap down the retaining/locking pin beneath the external locking lug and its more tight again. Personally I love my Yugo M70AB2 and have been looking around for another UF, Possibly the Polish . |
| UF are like White Castle Hamburgers. You love them or hate them. Personally I had a Polish UF and a Norinco UF and sold them both because they (for me) were just plain uncomfortable to shoot, especially in prone. The Romainian/E German stock that comes staight back may be better, I have not tried those. I don't think I am too recoil "sensitive", I shoot a K98, FAL and Garand. But they are #1 for evil cool factor. |
