I currently have an imported AK with a thumb hole stock. If I want to put on a pistol grip and butt stock, have to go all the way with the other parts to make it 922r compliant right?

I had the same issue with a maadi I put in a G2 trigger group a u.s. follower and floor plate and a u.s. brake.

It depends on who manufactures the stock set. US made sets (butt stock, pistol grip, upper/lower handguard) count as 3 parts. Non-US count as 0.
