I see that several suppliers got some Wolf back on the shelves...![]() I havn'nt seen prices yet though??
|
My local shop usually sells a case of Wolf for $99 but he's been out for a long time. He did say that Wolf has ramped up production (even more than usual) and expects a huge shipment in November and an even larger shipment in December. He said once those arrive we should see prices creep back down. |

paid 175 shipped for 1120 rds yugo surplus = to .15 a round including shipping and 154 shipped for 1560 rounds of czech white tip = to .10 a round including shipping Got it from Ammoman.com It's all corrosive but I'm not lazy I can clean my guns.. yugo for the AK and czech for the SKS... The Yugo works in the SKS but the czech works Perfect in the sks.. low recoil, perfect plinker ammo. the czech doesn't feed worth a damn in the AK so it's for my SKS only. Looks like I bought one of the last cases of Czech! They don't even list it for sale on the site anymore!!! wow I'm glad I got that when I did! It's just about my favorite SKS ammo for just messing around at the informal range I usually visit I'd really hate to have missed out on getting some more! I'll be waiting to buy Wolf again until there is FMJ availible... with all the trouble people are having with hollowpoints feeding correctly and I actually was having trouble with some Softpoint wolf not feeding right earlier... it's just not worth it to pay more for something that doesn't go bang every time.. |

Troy - No truth to any of the "banned" rumors out there. All WOLF calibers are currently in stock. We have been and are currently shipping 7.62x39 in small quantities to our distributors. We'll have larger quantities of 7.62x39 in a few weeks. Please tell the guys about the new WOLF Gold Line. WOLF Gold is brass cased and boxer primed. -----Original Message----- From: krinkfreak [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, October 23, 2005 6:07 AM To: WOLF Performance Ammunition Subject: Wolf Ammo Shipment Bill, Some of the guys are asking about when the next shipment of Wolf Ammo is due in ?? Can you elaborate ? http://www.ak47.net/forums/topic.html?b=4&f=64&t=77354 Troy Krinkfreak Site Staff AR15.COM |
that would be great,...ive had to use the old corrsive light ball stuff,..and every time i fire up my psl i have to make sure it gets cleaned up as soon as i get home,.... some non-corrosive,.brass cased,. reloadable 7.62x54r would be super kick-ass! |
I'm new to the AK world, but wont that kinda be like putting a CD into a Cassette Player ![]() Even though I have been in this a short while, I have had an SKS for a long time and I have seen Wolf prices slowly get more expensive this year and now brass cased ![]() I like the idea, but I doubt that Wolf will do well with this product line.... they may be do pretty good in the 5.56 market, but then again Winchester just started new production of Q3131, so this may be bad timing for Wolf's Gold line.... unless the price is right and the ammo is reliable and consistent ! Maybe I am totally off base I just think that making the steel cased ammo 'BETTER' would have been a better goal than brass casings. Then again Wolf may be marketing this Gold Line for hunting, etc... with better accuracy in mind and price not being an issue. Either way.... let's just get the steel cases back in for now |
I bet they would... OOOh.. But Fackler says that Blah blah blah amo wont penetrate a blah blah blah and that the seal team is now using the Fluffy nice bullet pink case .223 in their M4's. So i got to have that same ammo so i can sit it next to my COLT 6920 that is sealed in the vacuum display case and has never been touched by human hands!! I wouldnt want to shoot it oreven take it out in the sunlight because it might fade the color from the origonal way it looked.... It wouldnt be what they want ....More for us...!!! KyARGuy |
![]() Not only is that extremely funny its also accurate! |

If that's the case (pun), I'll be one of the first ones to reload it, even if I get one reload out the Gold brass case it'll be worth it. Can't wait! Everyone save their brass cases for me please ETA: Guess not, I dont see 762x39 www.wolfammo.com/1_wolfgold.htm |
The C&R guys have been banging on this one a bit.. Apparently they're bringing in .303 Brit and 7.5 swiss in the Gold line among others. From what I've seen of the prices (on the .303 at least) it's no cheaper than S&B or whatever. I'll have to grab some to see if the brass is any better than S&B, but at that price point I'll most likely stick with what I know. |
ROTFLMFAO! That is damn funny! |

wolfammo.com/1_wolfgold.htm WOLF GOLD ADVANTAGES Reloadable brass case and boxer primed. Made to SAAMI specifications. High performance at affordable prices. Clean burning and reliable feeding. FMJ loads deliver excellent accuracy for practice and training. SP loads deliver excellent accuracy, penetration and expansion for hunting. Backed by a 100% Performance Guarantee. The AR guys won't like it because its only to SAMMI specs and not a 5.56mm load. They worry about fragmentation too damn much. |
.223 isn't in their list |
| Being a poor college student, Wolf is the only ammo i can afford for my Wasr-10 lol. I have cycled about 3k fmj rounds and 1k hp wolf rounds through it and only had 2 jams in total with the ammo. The first jam came about 1500 in on the fmj rounds when i was bump firing. The brass didnt eject properly and got wedged with the next round took about 10 secs to fix so no biggy. The other jam came with the hp. This one was slightly bigger and i was amazed. somehow 3 hp rounds were wedged together and it was a bitch getting both the clip and the bolt to budge. All in all out of 4k rounds and only 2 jams that ammo aint that bad. Ill continue to buy it even though there arent that many gunshows where i live. I need to buy cheap wolf ammo off of one of these sites i guess. im paying 120/1k wolf at shows |
Nor is 7.62x39 or 5.45x39 A small consolation is that .308 and 150gr 7.62x54R is. 150gr - that should be good for an SVD or NDM-86, right? I think the stuff I got before was 148gr, and that was OK, but the 200gr stuff was too much, yeah? |

150gr - that should be good for an SVD or NDM-86, right? I think the stuff I got before was 148gr, and that was OK, but the 200gr stuff was too much, yeah? Yes. And it does not seem to be the total powder charge as the pressure curve at the port being fatter when the slower bullet heads out the bbl. |
Maybe you should get rid of that clip and get that gun a real magazine. |
the first 100rds thru my PSL where the 200gr. SP's,..felt like i was shooting a Mosin Nagant....ive gotten a few boxes of the m-30(j) stuff,..i think there about 180gr.,..and not that bad,.pretty accurate,..i think they where designed as there match grade ammo...now i have some old nasty non reloadable 147-148 gr. surplus stuff in a green tin can,..which handles pretty nice,.. and with the lower gr. the recoil is pretty light for a bullet that size,... so there gold line 150gr. FMJ,..brassed cased,..and reloadable is a god send,...ill buy 2-3 cases,..and if i can reload them once or twice,. ill be a kick-ass happy mo-fo hell i could even work up a good dear load for the Nagants i have sitting around. i dont know about the 30-06,.. i have alot of the sportsmans guied stuff already,.. and i am not looking for hunting rounds for my Garand im havent tryed any steel cased .308 yet but i will ,...my centme is getting cold and dusty and if it works ok with wolf .308,..ill be able to warm/dust her off alot more. |

Well, LAME. I got an email back from Wolf, and they said they have no plans to produce any Gold-line 7.62x39 or 5.45x39. I'm waiting to hear about 5.56x45... That kinda sucks - if they'd produce boxer-primed brass 5.56, I'd buy it over the XM193 or XM855, assuming it's cheaper... Hell, brass 7.62 and 5.45 would be cool too, to start saving brass to reload... |
I sent them an email re: 762x39 Gold Wolf, no response yet, don't worry no Gold Wolf .223, once fired .223 brass is virtually a nuisance, you almost can't give it away. 762x39 brass seems to bring about 20cents a case new, 10 cents once fired. It's hard to find once fired reloadable 762x39 brass when there's a boatload of Wolf ammo out there that sold for $80/K, $90/K, etc. |
Shoot with people who don't reload, scam their brass, works for me! I also a couple coworkers who shoot a lot of pistol and I'm getting about 3-4K of free 9mm brass a year, not so much in other calibers like 38 spcl, 357, 45 auto. Put the word out! Last week I was handed about 300 45ACP, 300 9mm, and about 30 M1 Carbine |
I always figured 50 here and 100 there wouldn't do anyone much good.. Guess I'll have to start sweeping up for you guys |
