im new to this forum so thanks for your input.  Early this summer i bought an Arsenal SAM7 carbine and absolutely love it.  i am now in the market for second AK and am looking for an underfolder noban.  right now i have limited to 3:
Polish AK47 Rifle
Yugoslavian M70 AK-47
Vector AK V 47

If i could have any advise to which would be the best.  The most i want to spend is 650.
thanks

the pol and vector are both polish rifles
the only diff is the stock
the pol has an actual polish uf and the vector has what looks to be a oldschool russian milled stock on it

the yugo is built like a tank and a great rifle (have 3) but if you want poly hgs you dont want a yugo

i really like the old russian stock but its a single latch design so it isnt as strong as the polish

basicly it comes down to wich you like best they are all good rifles

Yugo. Very solid. More accurate than most AK's in its caliber. I love my M70 AB2. You would be very pleased with this gun.

Are folks having good experiences with Atlantic?

Yugo is fine if you dont mind a non-chrome lined bore & chamber.

Blaine at Atlantic supposedly got the nice Yugo kits w/o fuzzy bores from CFS, making the guns a nice deal. BUt if you want a bullet hose, get the Polish for the chromed bore.

But the chome is a minor deal for plinking, as it mainly helps reduce wear that gets accelerated with heat.

What is a single latch design?  Are you talking about the hinge mechanism?  Any details or links for more info?

Yugo, it's my favorite UF now, and I have two other Polish and the Yugo is the shit.

I have a Vector Underfolder and I like it a lot.  It is accurate, has a great trigger and a 5 year warranty.  Vector does have good customer service if you would have any problems.  HTH

No problems here.  I got the Vector (which was built with Polish parts, as I recall) and Yugo underfolders from them, and I'm very happy with the products and the service.

with the vector, i have been seeing them at shows for around 650, is that a good price to jump on, or should i wait for a better deal?

Dude, get the Yugo M-70 underfolder. I bought one from Blaine, When they had the greenlight arms reciever. I see they are using a different reciever now. You might want to check with Blaine to make sure they are still using correct recievers for the Yugo (recievers with trunion bulges). If they are go with the Yugo.
My Yugo makes every other Ak i have look look and feel like pieces of shit (mind you I dont have any milled Arsenal). But I do have Vector underfolder and there is no comparison.

I'm a newbie to AKs so ignore all I say, but it's hard for me to swallow the concept of a non-chrome lined AK.  I mean,...   that's one of it's key features.  Couldn't they get chrome in Yugoslavia?  WTF slacked on that job?

Agreed, but I believe Vectors underfolders are on backorder if I remember. Unless you know somebody who has one readily avaiable you may have to wait.

Yugo Ak's are some of the best made (in my opinion). The chrome lined barrel should not be an issue with semi auto. I have read on this board that Yugo non-chrome lined barrels are more accurate. With proper care I would think your non-chromed barrel should out last you.
