Just got 2 SLR105-R rifles and the fit and finish is great ,they shoot great right out of the box too.how ever I would like to put a slant brake on it . can I take the funky end cap off the barrel ? it looks like a sleeve ,is the barrel threaded under the sleeve ?

AK-74's have the threads on the FSB like here: www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=216&1=235&3=239 The brake below is correct for the FSB, which has 24mm threads. An AKM slant brake would need 14mm threads. There are no threads underneath your SLR-105R's FSB.

why would you want to put a slant brake on your 105 when it already comes with a pretty good one

He's got the neutered post ban version, if it has an A1 at the back end of the nomenclature (SLR-105A1, SA-M7A1) then the rifle has the no-ban AK-74 front sight assembly and either a '74 brake or a flash suppressor.
