A buddy of mine has one for sale. Do these AK's have a good rep? $400 a good price for it in average condition? As you can tell I am a refugee from the ar15 side of this forum and need direction. I figured it would be good to have another weapon that shoots 5.56 like my Bushy. Anything you can tell me would be appreciated. |

I would pay the extra for the SAR-3 if it is in good shape and it is coming with some mags. I have a SAR-1 and SAR-3 and I am looking for a SAR-2 to finish ut the set. These are great rifles and I have never had a problem with either of them. Once you get an AK, just expect to get sucked in as you can get several AKs for the price of one AR and they are a great deal of fun to shoot! Welcome to the darkside! |

If it's a SAR3 (not a wasr3) the price isn't at all out of line. The SAR's haven't been imported for some time, so they are getting difficult to find. It would take more than $400 to buy any of the 3 SAR 3's I have. It's a sweet AK. A word of advice here, get Wieger mags for total realiability if you buy it. |

Avg price at shows here. Romy QC is a bit variable, so hand picking for straight sights, side rail parallel to the bore, matching wood (some came light/dark finish mix), has it's own value. $330 WASR3 + shipping/ffl fee = buy the SAR3 if it looks good The only mag you really want for these is the E Ger Weiger, steel, $15ish at Interordnance or Aimsurplus. SARs came with triggers infamous for being crap, but are easily replaced. |
