I used an oow for my first build but i have read they were too long and i agree i had problems with my receiver cover staying on.

Right now I think the Armory (Global Trades) receiver is the best one to build on.

DCI NodakSpud is supposed to be putting out an AKM receiver soon, I just built a Yugo on one of theirs and if the AKM is as good it should dominate the market.

I have a Tantal to build and I will wait to see what DCI comes up with. Not to mention an RPK that they will sell me.

Well, I chose to build my first build on a Global receiver for one main reason, and that is because global tempers their entire receivers, not just the rails and hammer/trigger holes.

Ohio Rapid Fire has them in stock.

imo, i like the global. for a number of reasons, the fact that i can get it park'd for 8 bucks i think it is, well. that just makes me happy
