I am new to the forum and really am impressed at the wealth of info available and the willingness of others to share. I will soon be taking delivery on a Armory USA SSR-85-C-2. Can anyone tell me what the overall length of the rifle is? Also can I expect it take readily available AK mags and does anyone have a recommendation for a soft case? Thanks |
| You will find a few people here not happy with the Armory rifles, some have had function problems with them. The rifle will take all the double stack mags. As far as length, I dunno maybe 36". I have no recomendations on soft cases, I use a rectangular one that will hold magazines on the inside. |

I use a discreet soft case made by leapers. They're dirt cheap and so far, seem very well made. www.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd/product.asp?dept%5Fid=120820&sku=CASE%2D015&imgid=&mscssid=JSJW0SWXKJUD8HE87KFBTRAA96VL3BJC Heres a pic of the inside with my 74. It comes with two rows to mount straps, with 6 straps total. I used the 4 extras to hold mags, so with the front pocket it holds 5 30 rounders.

16" bbl, 10" rec, then the butt 42" cases usually work, but if you add muzzle devices and/or butt stock pads, or get a bigger evil rifle later then you'll prefer a 46". You can fit a smaller gun in a bigger case but... I use the cheapo ACE brand for $35ish at local shows. Side pockets for mags, gun and misc target paper inside. Watch for AR cases, which are nice, but the narrower mag pouches have issues with the wider curved AK47 mags. ED- soft cases fit where hard cases do not always gracefully stuff in a small trunk and no hurry, as your old car/window wash towell will do fine for the first range trip |
| The 37" Galati Tactical Rifle Case should do you up nicely. I have one for my M4gery and like it a lot. It is made from woven PVC instead of nylon. |
