Doesn't work at all. We were firing Port during broad day light and the flash from the muzzle was obnoxiously visible. I'm sure in the dark, it is laughable. I have owned several AK's over the years and although this rifle feels hefty, like I said, the flash hider doesn't work and almost all the paint burnt off the barrel and gas tube during the first firing session of this rifle. The paint bubbled and stunk as it burnt off. I'm sure someone will chime in and post that the paint is supposed to burn off but I struggle to determine why a $750 AK can't be parkerized.

All in all, very reliable, no more accurate than any other AK I have ever shot, I give it Mini 14 level accuracy.
Crappy useless flash hider, if you can save a few bucks on a ban style rifle, I'd do it.
Finish sucks if you ask me, not at all what some have raved about.

Like all AK's I have owned, I am sure I will eventually sell it. I really see no advantages over this rifle other than bragging rights. I sent about 1k rounds down the tube. I am sure it will outlast other AKs however.

Not trying to bash this rifle, but I own one and thought I'd dish it straight. The worst AR is still more accurate than the best AK.

If you decide to sell your flash hider, let me know.

I won't sell it because I'd want it if I ever sold the rifle. I'm telling ya though, it's a mere hood ornamnet. Doesn't Kvar sell them?

They are sold out, and have been for some time.

Just curious...why would you want to keep it, if it doesn't work?

Not to be a dick, but read what I wrote. Incase I ever sold the rifle, I'd want the flash hider. I'm sure if someone bought the rifle, they'd want all the parts it came with.

I wonder if full auto fire would make a difference in the performance of the flash hider. With my limited experience with the bulgarian AK products I have had it seems strange something they designed did not work right. I have seen some guys with flash hiders on their AK's and they seemed to work when they were bump firing.

Sounds like you're not happy.......sell it and buy something that will make you happy.

Isn't a huge ball or fire out the barrel a cool thing?!

LOL j/k

I guess for a guy like me it would be.

Are the newer Arsenal rifles done in something other than paint? I saw and older one (post ban) at the gun store but didn't like the crinkly paint finish on it, I didn't trust it. Also, is this the newer style hider that kind of resembles the AR-15 with 6 slots inline with the barrel or the older type with three slots pointing up perpendicular to the axis of the barrel?
