Do these have chrome lined bores?

Yes.

The only AK's (and SKS's for that matter) that don't/didn't have chromed bores were the Yugoslavian rifles.

Thanks Templar.  Anybody familiar with model SS185Cs?  I didn't find anything on google or Arsenal's site.

Check here: www.GlobalTrades.com

If its a SSR-85C and it's made on a FEG receiver, it may be a good rifle.
If it's a SSR-85C-2 and it's made on a U.S. made receiver, it may NOT be a good rifle.

Those are Arsenal USA (Texas) rifles, which have nothing to do with Arsenal Inc. (Nevada).

The SSR's can be crap shoots......you can get a really nice one or you might not.

Templar, yeah I was getting the two mixed up.  Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

Last I heard, Global Trades was a solid AK.  What kind of problems are they having?

What makes Arsenal AK's worth the extra green?  Think I might just get a cheap Romanian beater for $329.

Global has had some serious QC issues as of late.

Which models are you asking about as far as the Arsenal Inc.  Milled receivers are FAR more expensive than stamped receivers and that's where most of the money goes.

I would probably be happy with a stamped receiver.

Current stamped receiver rifles from Arsenal Inc. are 5.45mm and are called SLR-105A1's.  They typically run around $575 for one without a rail and about $600 with a scope rail.

Arsenal is working on bringing 7.62x39mm AKM's to market (SLR-108's) and a stamped receiver 5.56mm.

The SLR-108 should be less than the SLR-105A1 since you don't have to buy an AK-74 front sight block and muzzle brake.
