| YAY they dressed some guy up in a bobba-fet costume, photchopped the shit out of him and printed a groovy fairy tale to make themselves sound relavant in the 21st century. Russia is a hollow shell of a country with no money, no direction and probably no future. the only reason anyone still listens to them is because they have piles and piles of cold war era nukes most of which probably dont work anymore. |
| You stole the words right out of my mouth. But, my favorite part of the whole article was the tank. It only exists as a sketch on a piece of paper, and it's already the lightest, smartest, and most powerful tank ever built...??? Don't you have to build something and make sure it actually works before you can lay claims to how great it is? |

Pravda hasn't changed a bit - don't be fooled by their "new freedom". It is still a government endorsed publication that can't put a story out unless it meets Putin's approval. The AN-94 is to the Kalashnikov what the Johnson Rifle was to the Garand. It is overly complex and inherently flawed design that will NEVER hold a candle to an AK. It uses a cable system to shuffle rounds in a carriage so that it can shoot two shots while the barrel is recoiling from the first round. I've seen extensive pictures of the system, and it looks chincy at best. The turret rear sight and valmet style stocks may be the best thing about the system. And there are already complaints about the sight not staying tight. I put money on the Kalashnikov system staying around for a long time to come - remember that type 3 milled AK's from the 50's are still in service in Russia. |
| so this neew super tank will have shells that can pierce armor that is 3/4 of an inch thick at a range of 6/10s of a mile or is that from the rifle with a carriage? eitherway i'm underwhelmed. Russia should put more money into training and improving the lives of their troops and leave this kind of crap to us. |
Well, they've got something like 15,000 ICBMs so even if only 1% of them work, that's enough! |
