Here is the problem I need help with.
I need to adjust the sights on my MAC-90 sot that the POA matches the POI.  I did a search and did find some things on adjusting the front sight. I tried what they said but it still won't move.  Is their some type of setscrew or something I need to loosen first?
Thanks for the help.

It's a MAK-90.  Your sights are probably canted, have to pop out FSB and realign.

Prob just needs some oil soaked in to un-freeze the metal.

It's a MAK-90.

Not a Mac.  MAC's are little open-bolt auto-pistols.

I've never seen a MAK 90 with a canted FSB.  Either support the FSB and hit the front sight cylinder really good with a hammer, or use a 3" C-clamp and a socket to push the front sight cylinder which ever direction you need.

Ditto on the never seen Chinese AK rifle with a canted front sight.

AK rifles are sighted in at the factory and a special tool is used to put a witness mark on the front sight base and front sight adjusting block. This displaces metal and bends the adjusting block slightly so it becomes really tight in the front sight base. It will take a really good whop on a brass punch with a hammer to get it to move. Once you get it to move the first time it will only take taps of the hammer to move it further.
Check the front of the front sight to see if the witness marks are not lined up move the block till they are and that should have you right on for windage. A really cost effective(cheap) windage adjustment tool you can make  at home without a engineering degrees or playing a engineer on TV is slip a fired 22lr case over a 3/16" steel punch as the 22 case will keep from marking up the base. Any brass marks on the base can be removed with some oil soaked 0000 steel wool without damaging the blue finish of the rifle.

Go to this site www.drzero.org/ak1/index.htm
Download the "Clayco Sports Model--AKS" manual which is in the third row down and second from the left. It has the best text with pics on how to adjust/set the sights. Also how to use all the parts of the cleaning kit to clean and maintain your rifle.

Forgot to add that "MAC 90" is what us railworkers call the EMD model SD 90 MAC which is a 6000hp railroad locomotive.

Sorry MAK.
RS39, I know I need to adjust the elevation right now and the person that owned the gun before me really cranked the windage so I want to put it back to center and readjust.  I will soak it in oil and see if that helps.
JA545, thanks for the link, I will also use your suggestions.
Let me try this and I will let you know how it works.
