| Can anyone tell me which arsenal made the 7.62 that has KT51 stamped on the back rib? I cant find any other markings on it like the arrow in the triangle or the star. I have read that if it had KT51 in a triangle, it's Tula, but mine does not look like there is a triange around it. Thanks! |

there is only 3 arsenal that I know of that make mags, TULA (star), ISHVESK (triangle with arrow), POLYANA (star in shield, mostly make RPK mags, and drums) are you sure it isn't TK? if it is, it's actually OTK, the O must have been rubbed off.......OTK is equivilant to our DoD acceptance stamp, the soviets used that OTK stamp on just about everything, drop bags, slings, shoulder boards, mags, uniforms etc.... it's nothing more then a acceptance stamp....... I have a ishevsk bakelite that has OTK 6 inked on it.......you would be very hard pressed to find which arsenal made that mag........but if I had to guess, I have seen more ishvesk ones then tula ones. you got a 50/50 chance of it being one of those. |
| I do know for a fact on the "slab sides" they have arsenal stamps, the ishvesk stamp is small on on the back of the mag....I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't carry that over when they started to make the ribbed metal mags as well.....the newer ribbed metal mags ones that I have seen in pictures have the arsenal mark in the same place as the bakelite ones near the bottom on the side. but I'm betting that they also produced a lot of mags without any arsenal stamps as well, maybe for export. |
Isnt that one in the middle with the "20" on it an E German one? |
That's what I was thinking. |
