Hello. I'm sure this topic has been discussed before but i can't seem to find it by doing a search. anyways, my question is...
is it bad for the magazine spring if you were to keep a mag loaded for an extended ammount of time(weeks/months/years)? Will the spring wear out so that when i would need it to work it wouldn't feed properly?

I've never had a problem with the mag springs when I keep them loaded.
My mags are always loaded.

Seems like consensus is that springs degrade because of use but not due to holding in a steady-state, either expanded or compressed.

My great uncle left his .45ACP loaded since WWII. He recently passed away, when we looked at the gun it was ready to go. Still had 1944 ammo in it. Spring tension was GOOD.

I have 4-30rd Chinese mags that have been fully loaded for 11 years now. I took them out 2 months ago and shot all of them. They functioned 100% so I loaded them back up when I got home.
