Any of you guys w/a .223 AK ever tried a Galil mag for fit & function?

The Galil magazine will not work in a Bulgarian 5.56mm receiver. I don't know about the Chinese or the Romanian, but I doubt it.

They were too wide for the SAR3 I was working on ...

If you were doing a 80% receiver could it be made to fit? I've recently acquired a Norinco Type 84 barrel/trunnion & it'd be nice to be able to use cheaper mags.

Gotta be real careful about the feed ramp geometry. Galil mags will lock up in a Valmet just fine but can cause the nose of the bullet to hit the feed ramp at the wrong angle and cause set-back into the case, which will raise pressures tremendously.
