What would you consider as "good price" for SAR2 nowadays?

I dont see much 5.45 imported AKs from the wholesalers, dealers, even individuals for sale lately.  What's up?  If they can have WASR10 in 7.62x39, I wonder if they will also bring in a 5.45 version of WASR AK.  I am kicking myself in the butt for not buying a 5.45 SAR2 when they were available for under $300 !!

Going price for an SAR-2 in good condition I would imagine would be right around $400. Yes, they were available for around $330 back when they were being imported. Now all you have are the crappy WASR's which do not even have the correct receiver.

I remeber purchasing SAR-II's from AIM for $220 each.  I guess those were the good ole days.  I would like to see a cheap, complete 5.45 rifle for those just getting interested in AK's.

I paid $269.00 each for these from AIM. I had to put a little money into them but I think it was worth it. By the way, I have never shot the bottom rifle and it was actually sent by mistake due to an error when I ordered the first one. And to think I almost returned it for a refund.

I like the muzzle brake.  How do you attach it on the SAR2?  Is there enough meat in the barrel for threading? Where did you get the MB from?

I still have my flyer for $239.95. And I got to drop by on a business trip, so that was the price I should have had more faith in the 5.45 ammo market here and bought several.

I used a 1/2X28 to 22mm adapter purchased from Jayson at IGF. There is plenty of metal on the barrel to thread on and when the adapter is screwed on the barrel, it also serves to hold the plunger pin in place. The top rifle has a 22mm chrome lined Romanian made brake and the bottom has a 22mm Global Trades made brake.

They had a sale during 2000 or 2001.  I wanted a "campy" clone and purchased two Romanian front sight bases and two polymer stocks sets to complete the AK-74 transformation.  The rifles ended up beautiful after I got them back from the Kansas Attorney Generals office and sent them to ORF for refinishing.
