I bought this several years ago hoping the ban would expire & it's been sitting in the safe since. The triangle arrow mark (not Ishevzk) is Romanian if I remember correctly. The East Germans also used the shitty looking doodoo brown plastic furniture, though. Can someone who keeps up with this better than I do confirm the ID of this kit?

As far as features go, what would be some good build options if I wanted to ditch the plastic furniture? What would be fairly authentic given the components of this kit? It's headed to Troy (once my 74M comes back!) or JNewt whenever I get around to it.

Thanks,

Kyle

Once again, Webshots sucks ass. It does seem to work if you copy & paste the URL.

Standard Romanian AIMS (AKMS) with East German furniture substituted for the original wood.

Is that a milled underfolder with a stamped kit?  Agree on the DDR furniture. Did this come from interord?

2nd Batt????Hmmmm, been there, done that.  As far as loading pics, try Snapfish.com.  I have been using them since I discovered this site and they have alwase worked, I just "copy" and "paste" the URL from the Propertys of the pic.    RLTW

Looks like a stamped u/f trunion to me.  They've left part of the cut receiver on there.

Here's a picture from Stottman's excellent post at the top of this forum. It shows what your AIMS used to look like before demil:

Fototime.com is the one I use.

It's $20 a year, but it was designed for you to be able to link the images and it never goes down.

I can almost guarantee that the kit came from Inter Ord.  They imported a bunch of Romanian kits and put East German stocks on them.

The East Germans never built a stamped underfolder.  They were the country that came up with the wire side folder.

I bought the kit several years ago from a local at a gun show. I can't say where it came from beyond that. The numbers don't match, but it is all brand new. Anyone have a source for original furniture?

Worldwide guys were hating life!

Interordnance is about the only source.

K-Var also stocks/stocked some Romanian wood, but not sure if they have the underfolder handguard.
