[ARCHIVED THREAD] - other scope mounting options?

I was going to put a night vsion scope on my Vector underfolder. I called vector to see if they had the side rail, or if they recomend one. They said the underfolder won't work with a side rail. I have seen the top cover mounts, but they look like they would shift. Anybody have any other ideas?

You can ask an AK smith like Bulter at AK-USA or Krebs to replace the rear sight with a picatinny rail.

Like Schulze mentioned a rear sight replacement rail would be a option for you I know there are also Ace models on themarket but as far as I know they are soldout and have no more plans of producing them. I have no experience with them but both Krebs and Ace are well known for quality products so I dont see it being a problem. You could also do a UltiMak I have one on my Ak pistol and it seems very solid but I avent had a chance to test it out yet.

He can't use an Ulitmak because of eye relief problems with a night vision scope.

I bought one of those ace units from here a few weeks back. A little work to get it installed on the gun but man what a nice mount. Solid. If you get the chance to buy one I think you'll be happy. It replaces the rear sight and has the option of putting a ar15 rear sight parts to give you a nice peep sight. You won't be sorry.

Well, I checked out those mounts. None of them would work for what I was hoping to use it for. If anyone else has any ideas, let me know.
