Doing my first AK build from Saiga 7.62 x 39mm.  Have done several AR'sa, but am just getting started with the AK.  Can anyone assist with a few simple questions, following:

1.  Bought replacement forearm rails (upper and lower), but cannot find schematic on removing Saiga black composite forearm, for replacement.  I removed sling swivel, but the original forearm still seems attahched, toward the rear.  (I thought the original might simply "snap on/off" and was additionally held by swivel.  Apparently not the case.)  How do you get it off, or is there a good link showing how to strip the fore-end?

2.  What is best value for $ in USA mfg op rod?  Considering Tapco.  Others?

3.  As info., I interested in a weaver rail to mount to the dust cover.  I spoke w/ Krebs Mfg., and they are currently working on just such a product!  (Perhaps others will be interested in this, as well.  I like my rear sights up close, as I'm sure many do!)

Thank you in advance.  Any assitance is appreciated.

If you are having trouble with the foreend, good luck with the gas piston :)

There is a flathead screw that is right behind the forearm. Turn it counterclockwise.
