Ok, I have looked at previous posts and I'm still unsure about this. I would like to put a slant brake on my Romainian WARS-10. The muzzel mics right at .55 and has about .58 of length beyond the front sight. 1. Can it be threaded for the slant brake? 2. What threading will it need to be? 3. Who has an inexpensive threading kit? 4. How do you index the brake to the correct position? Thanks to all who can help. |

1. If your muzzle mics to .55, you should be alright. The muzzle needs to be at least .551(14MM) for the standard 14X1 LH thread muzzle brake or nut. 2. A slant comp is threaded 14X1 LH thread. 3. I'm not sure about who has an inexpensive kit. One place to start is Dynasystems dynasystems-ltd.com/GunFile/Products.html. Another alternative is to rent one from wjm. He has an ad on the EE www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=123&t=236869 4. To index, I just threaded until I was close to where I needed to be. Then I put the brake on to see where I was at, and threaded more until I had a satisfactory index. If you are going to install the pin and plunger, you can actually go a little over, as the pin will hold the brake in the correct position. |
