I very very new to AK's, like yesterday I became interested.
Anyhow I  see Aim Surplus has a AK-GPWASR NEW AK WASR 7.62x39 RIFLE Item#AK-GPWASR
New Romanian AK Rifles. Now with Bayonet Lug and Flash Hider! Legal to use w/ high capacity mags. Each Rifle Includes 2-30rd Steel magazines and all accessories. Price:   $329.95
So does anyone know how these are? I have appsolutly know idea of what I'm doing, so I'm asking for your help. They seem to sound ok?
Can you tell me anything about these? Anything? Remember I have NO idea at what I'm looking at. Do they have any problems, is this a good price, ect.....
Thanks

It's a WASR-10, so if you want something super cheap, go ahead and get it.  It was never really designed for high-cap magazines, though.  They grinded out the mag well to fit the 30+ rounders.  I wouldn't get one.  I would simply wait until the ohio ordnance AKs started being manufactured en masse.

Eh?

Someone from Ohio that doesn't own an AK?

Isn't that a violation of Ohio state law?

As Hamlet said to Ophelia, "Get thee to an armory!"

If you live close to Ohio Rapid Fire go to their shop.  They could answer all your questions about AK's and show you a variety of different types available.  If I lived in Ohio,I would make time to visit them regularly.

Ohio Ordanance is going to start making fully assembled AKs and not just the receivers?

Just remember, AKs are like most things in life... you get what you pay for.  Personally, instead of spending $329 for a WASR, I'd consider spending $100 more and try to find a nice used Maadi or SAR and have it refinished (which can be done by yourself) and add some nice laminate furniture by Z_Recto.  Of course, now we're getting into the $500 to $550 price range but well worth it IMHO.
