I bought a WASR 10 high cap AK last summer and have not fired it yet. It's sitting in a safe at an undisclosed cache as a back-up gun should I need it for some type of SHTF or what not. I used to have a SLR-95 a few years back, but sold it to finance a different AR-15 project. The SLR-95 is the only AK I have ever shot. What's the skinny on these WASR's? I have been trying to read all I can on here about them. I don't expect the accuracy that my SLR-95 had. What is this I read about trigger slap? Explain what this means? Any recommendations or information about these guns would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully in a month or so I can get it out and test shoot it. Thanks James |

Hell i got a Romanian WASR10 and the only thing i hate is the trigger slap from the crappy Century FCG,Damn things shoots very good,Can hit a 9 inch paper plate all day with iron sights is doing pretty good with right out of the box accuracy. Trigger slap ?You will feel it as soon as you shoot the gun,Damn near makes my finger numb. |
| I have one I like a lot.Seems like there is no middle ground with these rifles, you either swear by them or swear at them. Some need a little work than others as CAI and quality control dont go together.Take it out and shoot it before you may need it to see if it has any issuies. |

I have an SAR and a WASR. Cosmetically, the WASR was a nicer rifle. I didn't have trigger slap, canted sights or gas blocks with either so I guess I was lucky. I did have to work on the magwell of the WASR. I would accept 30's, but my 40's and drums would not lock in. About 10 minutes with the dremel tool fixed that. I would definately check the rifle out before staking your life on it in a bad situation. |
