I need some assistance.
Background. I have a MAK that was raped and fucked flat footed by the goons upon import. 2*4 butthole stock, chainsawed the bayo lug, cut the retaining pin off the front sight tower, and replaced the underfolder with a butt plug to cover the hole in the reciever.
NOW-I recently purchased an underfolder set for my baby and of course I have no frikken idea how this thing is Supposed to go together.

http://www.gunco.net/forums/showthread.php?t=580&highlight=underfolder+diagram

I am using this diagram and I managed to put all the little parts together in working order. IT is on the gun and it is locking in both open and closed positions. BUT. The three pins that are listed as part number 4 have me baffled. I am assuming that they have to be punched into place, but what exactly do they hold together? Can I make a mistake with insertion and have to try to get the little bastards back out? Right now there is one NAIL holding this thing together. It is inserted into part number 6. This is not my first day at WECSOG, but it is one of the most confusing ones.

check the nut that screws it all together on the right side, it has holes for a pin.  perhaps this is the place?

and thanks for joining the ranks of the underfolder MAK army w00t!

Sorry, maybe I was not clear, I understand all of the holes that should have pins in them, but I am not sure what parts they hold together or if there is a way to screw it up. One of the pins goes into THREE different parts and it would be a bitch to have to try to remove it because I put something in a bind.

'hound':

The stock diagram you refer to is for a Euro pattern underfolder, and is a double lock-up type. I have tried to install such a stock on a MAK90 with the preexisting receiver holes, and found that the stock would not fit with the receiver, as is. Specifically, the receiver (on the right side) had no corresponding holes for the tabs of part #8. There have been other posters who reported that the stock could be made to fit, with receiver rework. It sounds as if you have already conquered this part of the assembly.
The underfolder for the Chinese receivers with the preexisting receiver holes is a single lock-up type, with part #6 being the part that locks the folder into position. The Chinese underfolder does not include part #8.

The pin that is of most importance for the assembly is the pin that goes into part #'s 1 and 6. This will hold the two parts together, so that when the plunger is pushed in, the lock-up piece (#6) will move out of the locked position, and allow the arms to be moved up or back. One of the holes in part #6 should be smaller than the other, and this piece is assembled so that the smaller hole is at the bottom, to better hold the pin in place. It also looks like part #8 will be held in place by this pin.

When part #7 is threaded onto the axle (#3) and properly located, a pin is tapped through part #'s 7 and 3 to hold part # 7 in place.

There is a third pin that can be installed through part #3, just inside the right receiver wall, but this is not absolutely necessary.

Exactly what I needed to know. thank you from the bottom of my little black heart.
While reading your explanation, I can see that diagram in my head and almost know exactly what you are describing, I am certain that I have studied it too much. I will do this tonight and post in the morning.
On the subject of double versus single, I purchased this from a friend who had an extra and I was ignorantly fortunate enough to get one that actually fit. Now I just have to get that ridiculous welded on tang off the back.
With the addition of one more part this rifle will be all metal except for the grip. Now that is a mucho bad black rifle.

After going back and looking and thinking about this, part 8 MAY not be fully engaged. I will look at this also and dremel if needed.

This page helped me a bunch a couple of weeks ago when I undertook the same task.  Hope it helps!
