I would like a bayo lug but how hard is it to replace the gas block on a SAR-1?

if you can use a hammer and a drift pin punch, you can do the job.

it is best to have access to a hydraulic or arbor type press to remove and install the fsb and gas block.

also, use a nail set to start the cross pins moving. replace the pins with new ones when you install the new gas block and fsb on the bbl..

use a drill bit to insure your gas tap hole is correctly aligned with the gas block's passage.

What about drilling the holes for the cross pin? I have a new gas block that isn't drilled.

Do you install the new block then drill block and barrel or drill the block and try to line up the pin holes and the gas port?

Or is this covered in the other forum and I missed it?
