I have a single stack Hungarian SA2000M. Is it possible that I could convert it to take high cap mags? Because it takes expensive single stack mags. If I can can someone give me some advice of the easiest way and the cheapest way of doing it. Any info would help me out. Thanks.

yes, it is easy to convert your hungarian akm to accept 30/40 round magazines and drums.

first, you need to add 5 usa parts to the rifle. i would suggest the 3 fire control parts and 3 furniture parts (hammer, trigger, fdisconnector, buttstock, pistol grip and handguards) as being the easiest and quickest way to get legalfor the conversion.

figure $30-40 for the trigger parts (on the cheap. better ones cost more) and maybe $80 for a furniture set...maybe a tad more or less depending on where you shop and what makes you happy.

then, it's simply a matter of using a set of files and perhaps a dremel tool for rough stock romoval to open up the magazine well to accept the wider double-column magazine.

go slowly and remove stock evenly from both sides. i find that scribing layout lines around a cut up old magazine top simplifies things, but it isn't a necessary step.

file the magazine catch lever to suit...if required at all.

Thank you very much now all I need is money

EDIT: Also If I keep my thumb hole stock does it lower the parts count?
