I favor the chinese versions.  You can still pick up a Mak 90 for around 350.00.  If you don't mind the buthole stock.  Although with the right parts it can have the pistol grip.  Although that adds money but imo it's worth it.

The cheapest AK's I've seen are the Russian made Saiga rifles.  I don't know how good they are though.  I believe they sell for around $225

by now the Sar are pretty much gone with the wind, and if you find one be prepared to live your wallet and plastic on the counter...but the WASR from Rapid Fire look good, for about  $350 yo got a good deal...check them up...

I got my WASR-10 Hi-Cap for $299.99 brand new with a 30 and 40 from a gun show.  Same vendor always has the same AK deal every show.  The rifle has never failed me.

Can always hit local stores and look, I got my Maddi local for $320.  I would say no more then $350 for a highcap AK.
