| How do i keep the muzzle down (physically and flash wise) on a regular non threaded AK..... any way to get a muzzle break / flash hider on these guys???? |
|
depending on the muzzle diameter, threading the bbl. is the best way to attach a brake. you must permanently attach the threaded device (by means of 180° circumferential weld, 1100° silver solder or blind pin) upon installation. there are several good recoil checks and brakes on the market. i prefer the genuine commie ak74 brake, myself. flash suppressors are illegal on post-ban rifles. |

I'll second the AK74 type brake, they work great. You can feel the difference between guns that have one and those that dont. Not that the AK is a big deal recoil wise. Threading the barrel is the only way to go. Blind pinning means that the brake is held in place with a pin that once in, can not be drifted out as the hole does not go all the way through. Hence the "blind" part. |

They drill a hole for the pin on one side of the brake, across the barrel, that doesnt go through to the other side of the brake so the pin can not be driven out with a punch once set in place. Once set, its not coming back out. Once pinned, the brake can not be turned off due to the pin locking it to the barrel. Maybe it should be called "one eyed" instead of blind, eh? |
