I'm getting the SEAK, and was wondering what you would put on for Optics seeing that the KVAR buy is not available at this time. Should I start out simple like a Holo or get something good one time?
Like I said brand new experience for me, M16 OK AK not sure. Thanks for your help

I would just buy a Kobra, or try another source for a PO scope.....either way it is a winner. For that matter I shoot mine 95% of the time iron sights.

The only reason I'm putting a scope on mine is for prarie dog-ery.  Theyll all pretty much be at a given range so a second set of sights zero-ed for that range is perfect.

Shooting distance, paper punching or fast object blasting?

Besides several commie red dot options for blasting, the cheapest choice is the PSO 4x24 scope for about $100 delivered. Includes siderail bracket built-in, real milspec tough, good glass (not great clarity but good), good 35' field of view at 100yds.

If I did not already have 2 Kobras and a PO3.5, I'd get a PK-AS-V for about $250. Circle around dot like the Holo, but the dot goes black when not under power so it is always usable (ooohhhh, aaahhhh).

Side rail to weaver adaptor brackets are also available. Consider that ones high enough to use irons under them also have more parallax to play with for aiming at varied distances.

PS- side rail to 1" integral ring brackets are also an option, like you need another excuse to have a 1-4x scope that can migrate from AK to AR

Have we convinced you to Get Both yet?

I recently started working with a 4-8x42PSO and like it. Full Dragunov reticle for windage/elevation work, very nice view, 4x to find the target, 8x to really work up on it. Reticle grows with magnification, so the sight picture does not change other than being closer.

Sounds like fun.  How much are we talking for a decent one?  Anybody in peticular to pick one up from?

About $190 is low for these, or $160 for weaver base model. I am trying the base model (cus that's what I got my hands on at a show with 'spare cash'), adds more height to an AK platform, feet are too close to span a bolt gun receiver without a full rail mount, good for semis though. For AK-only I fully suggest the integral bracket version.

Looks cool too with hammer finish and sunshade.
